Open Your Heart: Help Send a Child from the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes to Lake Lanier for this year's Poker Run.

 Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and cared for. Yet, for many of the boys and girls supported by Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes (GSYH), life began in circumstances no child should ever have to face. Coming from broken environments, homes torn apart by addiction, neglect, and trauma, these kids have spent much of their young lives just trying to survive.

This year, Lanier Charity Events is bringing GSYH to the 2026 Pirates of Lanier Charity Event—and with your help, we want to give 30 of these resilient young people a weekend they will cherish for a lifetime.

For many of these children, a trip like this is something they have only ever dreamed about. We are asking for people like you to step forward with a gift of $500 per child to cover their entire weekend experience—travel, hotel accommodations, meals, and every detail needed to make them feel special, welcomed, and deeply cared for.

How You Can Make a Difference:

• Sponsor a Child ($500): Fully covers travel, hotel, food, and activities      for 1 child, giving them a weekend of pure joy and care.
• Sponsor a Group ($1,500): Provides a complete, worry-free weekend      experience for 3 children.
• Community Champion ($5,000+): Helps sponsor the entire delegation of youth,      ensuring no child is left behind.

Beyond covering practical costs, your sponsorship sends a powerful message to a child who has known hardship: you matter, your community believes in you, and you are worthy of love and support.
